New Challenge

My friend, Taylor, has inspired me to start a new clothing challenge. 
She made a comment the other day that she never sees me in the same outfit twice. And she sees me a lot! 
Therefore, I have decided to challenge myself to wear a different outfit for every day of the year! Yes, I hope to wear 365 different outfits!!! I have a lot of clothes so I think this is doable. 

Here are the rules I have made for myself... 
1. Wear a different outfit everyday
2. Take a picture to document each outfit 
3. Post the picture on my blog! (the pictures may not be super awesome quality since I don't always have someone available to take my picture) 
4. I can wear articles of clothing twice as long as it isn't in the exact same outfit (for example, I can wear the same black tee-shirt with a pair of jeans one day and then wear the same black tee-shirt with a skirt the next week)

I think that does it. I hope I can do this!!! This will also help me to keep up with my blog. I know you guys miss my posts! 
What does everyone think? Do you think I can do it?!?!?! 

Crafts

My friend Annie's husband (and Joel's best friend) Jason's birthday was earlier this month. I have been feeling crafty lately so I made him some coasters for his man cave! 
They didn't come out as well as I wanted them to but I still like them. 

I took square pieces of wood and stained them dark brown. Most of my supplies are above. I used the sandpaper to sand the edges of the wood smooth. 

Here is the finished product. I used bottle tops. Also I used hot glue to get them to stick. If you do this, be careful because I burnt my fingers many many times! 

I covered the whole thing with Mod Podge. I would probably recommend using something different. There were a lot of air bubbles using this. 

But they are pretty cool! And fairly easy!

Bacon Jalapenos!

On September 9th, my friends and I went to the KC Chief's home opener. It was a super early morning but tons of fun! 

I made a breakfast casserole and then I made these lovely jalapenos wrapped in bacon. Everything is better with bacon, right?!?!  

Kristin's Bacon Jalapenos

Mix one package softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup cherry pomegranate sauce (from Costco). I also put a little bit of banana pepper juice in the mix to give it a little bit more of a kick. I thought it was a little too sweet without it. But that is up to you. I put probably 2 TBSP.

You will want to cut the jalapenos in half and seed them. 

Then fill each half with the cream cheese filling. 

Wrap them with bacon and put them on a foil covered cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about a half hour or until the bacon is crispy. I also turned the broiler on for about 5 minutes to make sure everything was cooked really well. They were a big hit! Highly recommend! 

Summer

Since I haven't posted all summer, I decided I would update you with some of the things I have been up to. 

Finished my summer classes! 

I tried to make a skirt I found on pinterest (found here). Needless to say, I got frustrated and gave up! The pieces are still in my closet for whenever I get the courage/time to try again. 

 Franklin took his first road trip to my parents house for the 4th of July and my dad's 60th birthday. And I got to go home for the first time since Thanksgiving! 

This one is of Franklin sleeping in the backseat of the car, so cute!

 These are gluten free muffins I made to eat for breakfast on my first ever float trip. They were really really good. Everyone enjoyed them. Here is the recipe.

This is the delicious lasagna I made for Joel. I used gluten free noodles, of course! 

Joel's aunt, uncle, and cousins came into town. So we surprised them by picking them up from the airport in a trolly! The best way ever!

 Then my friend invited a few friends over to paint a mural for his baby boy. Here is the finished product!

This is the beginning of my birthday celebration! We went to see the Campaign at the Alamo Drafthouse in Kansas City. Best theater ever!!!!

This was dirt cake I made for Joel's coworker's birthday. 

 Taylor and I at the karaoke place last Friday. Apparently I was dressed like a school girl! I thought it was a cute outfit! 

So that was my summer. I know everyone was really curious what I was up to! There were some other fun things in there too... Joel and I visited some friends in Chicago, went to the waterpark, dominated at noodle races (in Joel's grandma's pool), watched all of Dawson's Creek on Netflix, I got my hair cut (hello bangs!), my parents came to visit, I survived the hottest heat wave and worst drought ever, I started my internship as a elementary school counselor, and I turned 27. Overall, it was a great summer. It went by super fast though but I am ready for cooler weather! 

I hope everyone else's summers were just as eventful!

Alright, I am probably the worst blogger ever. I really don't have any good excuses besides I haven't really had access to a photographer. 
But... My friend, Annie, was so upset that I haven't updated my blog we had an impromptu photo shoot last night! Luckily I was wearing a good outfit! 
So I am going to try to update this at least a few times a week. So tune in!!!

Feeling crafty!

Friday night, Joel and I met up with some friends and went to the best Chinese buffet ever (Legends of Asia in Blue Springs, Missouri). 
Afterwards, we went over to their house. Annie has a craft room in her house that I am totally jealous of and one of her friends is having a baby girl in a couple of months. So she wanted to make little headbands and barrettes! 
We found a lot of inspiration from pinterest, of course! 
Here is the end result. I think they came out fabulously!!!
